Report: Rennes contact Arsenal target Loic Bade

Rennes have seemingly made the first move in the race to sign Loic Bade, that the Ligue 1 side have contacted the agent of the defender – who was linked with Arsenal earlier this month.

The 21-year-old is attracting a lot of attention after a superb year with Lens in the French top flight.

that Arsenal want the centre-back.

It was also noted that AC Milan, Sevilla and Rennes also want the youngster, who has been compared with Raphael Varane already.

But it seems that it is the latter who have played their hand already.

, their divisional rivals have made contact about a potential move for the starlet.

It is noted that a move will not be easy due to Lens being ‘greedy’ when it comes to the fee involved in a potential move.

Arsenal should step up Bade interest after potential Kounde setback

Bade is not the only young French centre-back Arsenal have been linked with this summer.

that the Gunners are also admirers of Sevilla starlet Jules Kounde.

However, it appeared that a move may be unlikely. Julen Lopetegui’s men want around £50 million for Kounde.

It was also claimed in the report that he was likely to want Champions League football. that Real Madrid want him.

Much may depend on what fee Lens want for Bade. Arsenal are also at a disadvantage with some of his other admirers able to offer European football next year.

Sevilla, of course, may have their eye on Bade as a potential replacement for Kounde amid doubts over his future.

Arsenal will not want to be left empty-handed across the two pursuits. So the reports that Rennes have made contact should prompt the Gunners into action.
