Report: Reiss Nelson rejected Leeds United move last season, should Victor Orta rekindle interest?
Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson rejected a loan move to Leeds United last season.
The report suggests that the now 21-year-old decided he did not want to drop into the Championship and therefore opted against following Eddie Nketiah in heading to Elland Road on loan from The Emirates.
It comes amid new rumours regarding his future. Nelson is said to be available for loan before the end of the January transfer window. Again, his position is said to be that a move to Germany is favoured over a switch into the Championship.
But should Leeds United come calling again?
Clearly, Nelson is a player who has caught the eye of Leeds United’s director of football Victor Orta and there is no doubt that Nelson could play a role under Marcelo Bielsa.

What position that might be would be anyone’s guess. Nelson can occupy either wing or play in attacking midfield but knowing Bielsa he might see Nelson as a central midfielder or even a full-back.
What is clear is that Nelson has the energy, skill, and tenacity to fit the bill at Elland Road. Leeds have space for another Premier League loanee, alongside Jack Harrison, and with Helder Costa struggling for form in the top-flight, Nelson could be a perfect alternative to Harrison and Raphinha in the Leeds wide areas.
Perhaps Leeds should try again for Nelson, now they have the opportunity to offer him Premier League football.
