Report: Real Madrid make decision on Newcastle and Arsenal-linked Luka Jovic
that Real Madrid have decided to hand Luka Jovic a second chance to shine with the Galacticos after a disappointing first campaign – amid reported interest from Newcastle United and Arsenal.
Jovic, 22, joined Real Madrid last summer for a whopping £52million (AS) after netting an impressive 26 goals in 44 games for Frankfurt – even helping the German side reach the Europa League semi-final where they eventually lost to Chelsea.
Such form saw him join Real, but he has netted only twice in 24 outings since his move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Of those 24, 16 have been from the bench and of his eight starts, the Serbia international has been substituted seven times.
Newcastle and West Ham are leading the race to sign Jovic, after Aleksandar Mitrovic sold Newcastle to Jovic. But Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United are also keeping tabs.
However, the latest report states that Jovic will remain at Real Madrid for the 2020-21 campaign as Zinedine Zidane hands him a second chance. But failing to improve his fortunes could see him depart second-placed Real at the end of that season.

TBR’s view – Would Jovic be a good signing for Newcastle or Arsenal?
Arsenal certainly do not need Jovic right now. However, doubts remain over the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is being linked with numerous Premier League sides and Real Madrid’s rivals, Barcelona.
Alexandre Lacazette is reportedly a priority for Atletico Madrid, and the loss of those two stars may see Arsenal go after Jovic. Newcastle need a centre-forward to replace flop Joelinton, who has netted one Premier League goal after his club-record move.
For both sides, he would be a top signing – but Newcastle need him more.
