Report: Real Madrid discover valuation of Liverpool target Diego Carlos
Liverpool will need to fork out £65 million to sign Sevilla defender Diego Carlos,
The January transfer window saw the Reds linked with a move for Carlos, with actually claiming Liverpool were in talks with the player.
The report from claims that Real Madrid are now interested in they have been told they will need to match Carlos’ release clause in order to prise him away from his current club.

Liverpool have Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip battling out for two central defensive spots at the moment. Dejan Lovren is also at the club, although he could well leave in the summer.
The Brazilian enforcer has played 22 games for the Spaniards this season and more interested parties could emerge between now and the end of the campaign.
Carlos’ valuation does make him an interesting one for Liverpool. Dutchman Van Dijk is quite clearly the first name on the team-sheet but both Matip and Gomez have been superb when called upon alongside him.
The 26-year-old has a pass success ratio of this season and that certainly sees him fit into Klopp’s ethos of playing out from the back.
Necessary
There is a claim to suggest that Liverpool perhaps don’t need to spend such a huge amount on a central defender.

Sepp van den Berg and Ki-Jana Hoever are both emerging through the ranks and could feature consistently in the first-team at some point.
If Liverpool are going to spend such an outlay on one player this summer, it seems more likely that it will be a midfielder or attacker that is sought by Klopp.
It might not be the worst decision in the world to let Real Madrid emerge victorious from the pursuit of Carlos.
