Report: Rarely-seen Tottenham player set for interesting transfer
Swedish outfit Degerfors are eyeing up a move for Tottenham goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman,
The stopper has been demoted to the third choice recently. Boss Nuno Espirito Santo has added Pierluigi Gollini to his goalkeeping ranks, with Hugo Lloris established as the number one.
Whiteman has made just one first-team appearance for Tottenham. That came last season during the Europa League campaign.

He has been a regular in the club’s under-23 and under-18 ranks having risen through the club’s youth academy.
Whiteman is now 22 and the time has come where he will need to be playing regular football. At this stage, nobody really knows what he’s capable of in men’s football and now Degerfors are keen to pounce.
The Swedish league is in full swing. The club chasing Whiteman have started pretty poorly and sit 12th in a division of 16 teams.
Ismael Diawara is set to leave for Malmo and that leaves Degerfors in the market for a replacement.
It is unsure from the report whether the deal will be on loan or whether it will be a permanent exit from Tottenham for Whiteman.
The custodian is out of contract during the summer of 2022. As a result, if he does impress, he could throw himself into the shop window ahead of next season when he will become a free agent.
Whiteman has to look at Tottenham departure
This looks like a decent move for the custodian to consider. There is unlikely to be a lot of pressure on him to perform in Sweden and it’d give him a good taste of men’s football.

Whiteman isn’t really a kid anymore and he needs to play football. With Lloris and Gollini fighting for the gloves, the untried option is unlikely to be called upon.
Moving looks ideal and it’s time for Whiteman to start proving his worth in the game, rather than acting as a peripheral figure on the sidelines at Tottenham.
