Report: Rangers’s Borna Barisic wanted by Roma and AC Milan

Rangers left-back Borna Barisic is on the radar of both AC Milan and Roma ahead of the January transfer window, .

Barisic has been a revelation for the Gers this season. It appeared that the Croatian would likely be on the way out of Ibrox in the summer after a poor first campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

But Barisic stayed. And he has since seemingly become one of first names on Steven Gerrard’s team sheet. His journey back from the brink of the Rangers exit looks complete after he provided both assists in Sunday’s 2-1 win at Celtic.

But, unfortunately for Rangers, his form appears to have attracted admirers. that both Roma and AC Milan are eyeing a move for the 27-year-old.

TBR View – Rangers cannot afford to lose Barisic

While Barisic is not Rangers’s talisman, no player is arguably more important to Gerrard at the moment. He is surely alongside the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Jack and Allan McGregor in giving the team something that Rangers could find nearly impossible to replace if he did leave.

Rangers do not have a lot of depth in his position. Neither Jon Flanagan or Andy Halliday consider the role their strongest position. And they certainly could not fill the void that Barisic would leave.

He has been defensively sound this season. And he has had a direct hand in eight league goals, with six assists in 15 appearances.

Obviously, every player has their price, and that may give the likes of Roma and Milan some hope. But Rangers have to make sure that Barisic’s asking price all but ensures that a move is out of the question.
