Rangers appear to be the frontrunners for Fashion Sakala’s signature.
That’s according to Belgian outlet , who claim that the Zambian international would prefer to join Steven Gerrard’s men than Ligue 1 side Lille.
Sakala currently plies his trade at K.V. Oostende, who are fifth in the Belgian First Division.
He’s been capped 13 times for his country, and has scored 13 goals in 28 appearances for his club this season.
The report suggests that the 24-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is likely to move this summer.
Lille are credited with an interest, but it appears a move to Ibrox is more likely for the forward.
A late equaliser for the home side meant Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday night.
Scott Wright had given Gerrard’s side the lead on 55 minutes, but Liam Craig levelled from the spot with a contentious penalty deep into injury time.
Speaking to after the match, Gerrard said: “I wanted to give people an opportunity tonight and we nearly took maximum points by not playing well.
“We have no complaints in-terms of the results – it is a shame we didn’t see the game out and I think we made some poor decisions in the final moments of the game but I think all-in-all, we will take the point and move on.”
