Report: Rangers star eyed by Gerrard, Benitez, Newcastle and three other PL sides

that Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle and three other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, in January. Steven Gerrard’s Villa are seemingly leading the way.

Kamara, 26, has been a revelation since Gerrard lured the 40-time Finland international to Ibrox. Joining the club from Dundee in January 2019, the ex-Arsenal man has clocked up an enormous 132 appearances in all competitions.

But having failed to qualify for the Champions League group stages, Rangers are expected to make a sale or two in the upcoming window – to balance the books. Kamara could be sacrificed by the current Premiership leaders.

Villa are keen, with Marvelous Nakamba potentially sidelined for more than three months. But TeamTalk say Gerrard’s side face competition from five other Premier League sides – Everton, Newcastle, Burnley, Watford and Southampton.

Kamara eyed by Villa and more: Which club is best for Rangers star?

Gerrard certainly needs a holding midfielder. It seems like the perfect fit, Kamara would reunite with Gerrard – and will know how Gerrard wants to play. But a move elsewhere could also prove tempting for the Fin.

Everton have options, but the likes of Fabian Delph and Tom Davies are not deemed good enough. Newcastle desperately need midfield additions, and have all the money in the world to tempt the likes of Kamara.

Watford, Burnley and Southampton could all be involved in a relegation scrap and Kamara would prefer to avoid that is possible. Villa is certainly his best move, but Everton might also tempt the midfielder, too.
