Rangers are reportedly set to announce a new deal imminently for their defender Leon Balogun.
, the 32-year-old has played enough games this season to trigger a contract extension at Ibrox.
It is explained that he’s hit the figure of 23 starts this campaign to trigger the clause.
The report states he will now be handed an automatic 12-month contract, and the club are “likely” to confirm it when the squad returns from international duty.
Balogun, who is currently away on international duty with Nigeria, has turned out to be a shrewd addition this year for the Scottish giants.
The experienced centre-back joined on an initial one-year deal, but will now be staying for a second season.

TBR’s View:
If you look at Balogun’s season, he’s been a crucial part of the Rangers squad that have won the league crown despite having spells in and out of the team.
The centre-half hasn’t been a nailed-on starter throughout the season, but he’s made 28 appearances across all competitions, and been extremely consistent when needed.
He’s a powerful defender that adds extra pace at the back, plus his ability to slot in as cover at right-back highlights what a valuable part of the squad he has become.
A new deal for him is a massive positive.
