Report: Frankfurt looking to offer Borre a four-year deal as Rangers dealt blow

Rangers have to act quickly to complete a transfer for Rafa Santos Borre with Eintracht Frankfurt pushing for a deal, according to .

The player is a free agent after his contract with River Plate expired today. It’s thought to be one of the reasons which has interested the Glasgow giants.

Borre enjoyed a great season with the Argentines before his deal came to an end, scoring eight times in 17 appearances.

It’s being claimed that the Germans are discussing a four-year deal with the centre-forward. Frankfurt are seeking a replacement for Andre Silva, who has agreed to join Red Bull Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Alfredo Morelos has been linked with an exit from Ibrox this summer. Reports claim Porto have made an offer for the Colombia international.

Diego Simeone labelled the former Atletico Madrid ace ‘‘.

TBR View: Borre would be an astute replacement for Rangers this transfer window

Speculation seems to be hotting up regarding a move away from Morelos. He’s been a great asset under Steven Gerrard, however, Rangers can’t afford to stop him leaving the club.

The club’s demand of £14.5m is a sign that they’re willing to listen to offers for the ace. He hasn’t always been a reliable figure during his time in Scotland, especially with regards to discipline.

But, amidst all this, a viable replacement is needed.

Centre-forwards are in short supply under the current market conditions, especially affordable ones.

It makes a transfer for Borre even more crucial for Rangers as they look to fend of Frankfurt.

A free transfer for a striker, who is coming off a fairly good season in front of goal makes plenty of sense.

But with the Eagles pushing for a move, Rangers need to show some urgency in completing a deal.
