Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie could be offered the chance to leave Ibrox permanently this summer, that Portsmouth hope to keep the Gers loanee beyond this season.
The 22-year-old has made 22 appearances in all competitions since moving to Pompey on loan last summer.
There have been glimpses of his quality during his time at Fratton Park. But there have also been times when McCrorie has arguably struggled, with Kenny Jackett often asking the youngster to play at right-back.
Nevertheless, that Portsmouth are planning to make a move to sign the Rangers starlet on a permanent basis.

McCrorie’s form has been mixed at times. But Steven Gerrard should arguably show no interest in letting him leave Ibrox permanently this summer.
He definitely has a bright future ahead of him with Rangers. It is not going to be easy to get back into Gerrard’s lineup on a regular basis upon his return. But he arguably has the talent to get there.
It was a controversial move to let McCrorie leave on loan in the summer. And there have been times where the fans would have been forgiven for suggesting that the loan decision was a big mistake from Gerrard.
He may need to improve. But McCrorie is capable of doing exactly that. And thus, Rangers should snub the chance to sell him if Pompey do pick up the phone.
