Report: Rangers face interest in Morelos from AC Milan

According to the , AC Milan are scouting Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos. The Serie A giants watched on as the Colombian impressed in recent Europa League qualification round outings against St Joseph’s and Progres, with the 23-year-old notching a hat-trick against the former.

This impressive early season form is a continuation of last season. Over the course of the previous campaign, Morelos racked up 30 goals in all competitions. He also provided 11 assists. Morelos shone on a regular basis at Ibrox Stadium. However, his lack of discipline also saw him have a negative impact on the pitch. Aside from scoring lots of goals, the striker also racked up plenty of cards. He was sent off five times last season.

Morelos needs to improve his disciplinary record if he is to ever reach his full potential at the top of the game. However, such an issue ought not to put AC Milan off of making a move for the three-cap Colombia international. As per the aforementioned report, the Gers could potentially be tempted into parting with Morelos if their £15 million valuation is met.

His exit would leave Steven Gerrard in desperate need of a new striker though. Morelos will be very tough to replace. The manager will already have his targets, but if AC Milan hold off on making an official offer until the deadline is looming, then Rangers will have no choice but to reject whatever money is on the table from the Italian outfit.
