Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to bring Gary Cahill to Ibrox this summer, that the Gers could offer the defender a £35,000-a-week deal.
The Light Blues look to be well-stocked at the heart of their defence. Connor Goldson seems immovable in Gerrard’s backline.

Meanwhile, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun, Nikola Katic, George Edmundson and Jack Simpson are amongst those also vying for a spot.
Nevertheless, it has been claimed that Gerrard wants further depth in that position.
, Rangers want Cahill. And it is claimed that they are ready to offer him £35,000-a-week.

Cahill is technically out of contract at Crystal Palace. However, he has been offered fresh terms at Selhurst Park.
The Sun does note that the new deal would be incentivised with extras with his wages set to drop.
Rangers fans may have mixed feelings on Cahill links
Cahill has enjoyed an incredible career. He has played almost 400 times in the Premier League. He has also won every honour available to a top flight footballer in England.
And Rangers have benefitted greatly from the deal to sign Jermain Defoe in the twilight of his own career.
However, Gers fans may be divided on the reports.
Rangers do not lack options at centre-back. So offering up to £35,000-a-week would be a huge investment.
If Rangers are indeed keen, a deal could prove to be inspired. He offers much-needed Champions League experience.
And he has done extremely well at Palace. He certainly looks to have plenty more left to give before hanging up his boots.
But if he did arrive, surely one or two of the defenders already in the Rangers ranks will be asking questions about their own futures.
