Report: Ralf Rangnick on Everton’s shortlist to replace Marco Silva

Ralf Rangnick is one of several names being considered by Everton, .

Everton are on the lookout for a new manager after dismissing Marco Silva. Duncan Ferguson is the caretaker manager and he inspired Everton to a win over Chelsea in his first game in charge.

This has bought him more time as caretaker manager and taken the time pressure off Everton’s hunt for a permanent Silva replacement. But the Toffees are still actively looking for potential options.

Rangnick is one of the options. He features on a manager wishlist alongside Leonardo Jardim of Monaco and Shanghai SIPG’s Vitoria Pereira. Everton’s former manager David Moyes is also a possibility.

Currently the Head of Sport and Development for Red Bull, Rangnick has vast experience in Germany. The 61-year-old has spent time with Hannover, RB Leipzig, Schalke, Hoffenheim and others.

Most recently, he was in charge of RB Leipzig for the second time. His win percentage was over 50 per cent during both spells with the Bundesliga team. Everton could be a new challenge.

TBR’s view

Rangnick would be an interesting option for Everton. He is not a safe option like Moyes. But he is not guaranteed to be successful.

Despite impressing with RB Leipzig, Rangnick has never managed outside of Germany. Everton need to do their homework before rushing into any deal.
