Report: Rafa Benitez uses intermediary to rule out Newcastle United return
that Everton boss Rafa Benitez has used an intermediary to rule himself out of the running for the Newcastle job.
Benitez, 61, is hugely well-liked on Tyneside after spending more than three years as manager at St. James’ Park. He was in charge for 146 matches.
The second-most of any club in his career, behind only Liverpool. But the Spanish gaffer has since taken over at Everton, despite his Reds past.
He has guided Everton to five wins from 11 – losing only three times. There had been reports that Amanda Staveley wanted Benitez back at Newcastle.
But now, Benitez has ruled out a move and used an intermediary to inform the Toon that there is no chance he will leave Everton for the north east.

Benitez turns down Newcastle: Who is still in the running for job?
Without Benitez, Amanda Staveley and the Saudi-backed consortium will now be looking at the likes of Paulo Fonseca and Lucien Favre.
The out-of-work duo remain first choice. Erik Ten Hag is also well-liked, but the chances of him swapping Ajax for Newcastle seem incredibly unlikely.
Graeme Jones remains in charge and has been tasked with managing this weekend’s game against Chelsea. But after that, it is up in the air.
The chances are, as things stand, that Fonseca and Favre are the two most-likely to arrive at St. James’ Park. But there could be a twist.
