Report provides insight into Leeds’ January budget as Orta eyes move for £110k-a-week PL star

an insight into what sort of transfer budget Leeds United will be working with in January amid the Whites’ interest in signing Ross Barkley from Chelsea.

January windows have tended to be incredibly quiet under Marcelo Bielsa. Leeds have rarely worked to bolster their first-team squad in the winter.

Instead, they have usually focused on strengthening their under-23 options. In fact, no senior player signed in a January window during Bielsa’s tenure find themselves in the current squad.

However, Leeds are open to adding to their ranks this time around. that they are keen on taking Barkley on loan from the Blues.

Barkley, for his part, is open to leaving Stamford Bridge in January to secure more game-time.

The Mail adds that Leeds are not planning to spend much in the month.

Barkley will not come cheap, even on loan. that he is on £110,000-a-week.

Leeds fans will welcome one signing with boost needed in January

One of the reasons Leeds fans may be a little pessimistic about this campaign is the fact that they know that it would be uncharacteristic for Bielsa to sanction a raft of signings in January.

The current squad – which has been decimated by injuries at times – will pretty much remain as it is for the entire campaign.

You can understand why Bielsa does not want or sanction numerous additions. His squad buy into everything he wants. And they have the capabilities to play the style that he implements.

It is simply harder for January signings to adapt.

Having said that, the lift that even one new signing will give Elland Road could potentially prove to be crucial.

Barkley is a player who divides opinion. But plenty of Leeds fans will be encouraged that it is seemingly an option.
