Report provides clue on Leeds striker target playing in Europe

that Che Adams remains Leeds United’s dream striker target this month, while Billy Sharp is also on the Whites’ radar. But there has also been a big clue about another name on their wishlist.

It is little surprise that Leeds are prioritising signing a new striker this month. Eddie Nketiah’s loan was recently brought to an end, leaving Patrick Bamford as the only senior forward at Marcelo Bielsa’s disposal.

Should the Whites get their way, it appears that they will sign Adams from Southampton. The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that they remain hopeful of signing the Saints’ £15 million summer signing.

However, the report notes that they also have other options in mind. One of those names is Sharp, who has also struggled for starts in the Premier League this season.

But there has also been a potentially tantalising hint regarding another target on the club’s radar.

that Leeds are also looking at a striker currently playing in Europe. It is noted that he has scored goals at international level.

TBR View – Could Leeds have international ace up sleeve?

It may be that Leeds fans never need to worry about who the international player is. Signing Adams would arguably be a fantastic piece of business. While it would also be a big statement if the Whites were able to bring Sharp back to Elland Road.

Of course, signing an international striker does not necessarily guarantee a good piece of business being done. Edgar Cani has 16 caps for Albania, after all.

But Leeds are very much back on the map under Bielsa. They can attract some very exciting players, so perhaps the international the club have in mind could be an option would could really capture the imagination.
