Report: Price could be stumbling block as Galatasaray chase Watford’s Okaka

According to the , Galatasaray are interested in signing Watford striker Stefano Okaka. However, whilst the Hornets are open to letting the 29-year-old go, their valuation of the forward could put the Turkish champions off.

Galataray are thought to be prepared to pay £2.5 million for the Italian. However, Watford are said to want more.

It is unlikely that Okaka has any real future at Vicarage Road. He has struggled to impress since his arrival from Anderlecht in 2016. He spent the second half of last season on loan with Udinese, where his form improved, but probably not enough for him to salvage a place in Javi Gracia’s plans.

Whilst Watford will be keen to receive the biggest fee they can for Okaka, they should probably cut their losses and accept Galatasaray’s bid. In the long run, simply getting Okaka off of their books as quickly as possible is a smart move.

It would certainly be a positive move for Okaka himself. Whilst he failed to really get to grips with the Premier League, he could flourish in Turkey. As a powerful, experienced forward, he has attributes that would make him a valued member of Galatasaray’s squad.
