Report: Premier League rivals certain to bid for Arsenal ace Maitland-Niles

Arsenal may accept just £10 million for Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer, that the academy graduate is certain to attract interest from Premier League sides.

Maitland-Niles left the Emirates in January in the hope of becoming the latest player to get his career properly off and running in Serie A. And he started with 90 minutes in both of the first two top-flight games he was available for for Roma.

However, things have turned sour in the Italian capital. Maitland-Niles has been an unused substitute for the Giallorossi’s last four league games. Unsurprisingly, Jose Mourinho is not intending to keep him beyond his loan spell.

Staying at Arsenal does not look to be on the cards either. that Mikel Arteta is likely to let Maitland-Niles leave permanently.

His contract has one year left to run. And Arsenal would apparently now accept a figure similar to the £10 million Everton offered for Maitland-Niles last summer.

Interestingly, the Daily Mirror adds that he is certain to attract attention from Premier League rivals.

Time right for Arsenal to let Maitland-Niles leave permanently

It is a shame that Maitland-Niles looks set to leave. But it has seemed that the writing has been on the wall for the England international for some time.

He turns 25 in August. And he has had a number of chances now. Arteta insisted that he has ‘come a long way‘ earlier this season. And yet, he was unable to kick on from there.

It seems to make little sense for Maitland-Niles to stay at Arsenal next year. Perhaps he may decide to wait for the end of his contract and secure a more lucrative contract in 2023.

But surely, it is best for all parties if Maitland-Niles pushes to leave Arsenal this summer – particularly with Premier League sides certain to make a move.
