Report: Premier League club are about to bid more than £15 million for ‘outstanding’ Liverpool player

Nottingham Forest are preparing to make a second bid to sign Liverpool defender Neco Williams this summer.

The report that Forest’s opening offer was worth a total of £15 million; £11 million up front and another £4 million in add-ons.

It has been reported that Liverpool want more guaranteed money up front and want a package closer to £20 million to let Williams go.

Forest are getting ready to test their resistance again, as they are keen to bring Williams in to bolster their bid to thrive in the top flight.

Forest prepare second bid for Williams

If Liverpool had hoped to spark a bidding war, that is apparently not happening at present.

The Athletic report says that Fulham, with whom Williams spent the second half of last season on loan, have other options they want to buy at right-back.

They are not interested at the price that Liverpool are quoting, but it seems that Forest have not been put off yet.

Williams was described as ‘outstanding‘ on international duty last season and harbours hopes of going to the World Cup with Wales this year.

To do that, he needs to be playing regular football and a move to the City Ground looks like it would suit all parties.

Liverpool have already sorted their right-back options for the season by signing Calvin Ramsey, and would make a profit if they sold Williams for far more than they paid to land the young Scotsman.
