Report: Porto showing interest in Tottenham Hotspur outcast Danny Rose
on their deadline day blog (Monday, 3,27pm) that one of Jose Mourinho’s former sides are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose – in the form of FC Porto.
Rose, 30, is in the final 12 months of his contract at Tottenham and has been completely frozen out by Spurs. Following his return to Tottenham after a loan spell at Newcastle, Rose has not been given a squad number by the north London club.
Indeed, Mourinho has given the number three shirt to new signing Sergio Reguilon, who has pushed Rose further down the pecking order. England international Rose has just hours to secure a move, if he wants to go abroad.
Now, Rose could be on his way to Porto. Mourinho’s former side, where the current Spurs boss won the 2004 Champions League, are interested in luring the £60,000-a-week contract () defender to Porto.

TBR’s view – Rose would get plenty of game time at Porto
And that is because of Manchester United signing Alex Telles, with a £15million move expected to go through before the end of the window. Porto will need a replacement and a move to the Portuguese side would be a good one for Rose.
Even though Rose is out of contract next June, a move is expected to be a loan if it does go through. From January onwards, though, Porto can sign Rose on a pre-contract agreement. It is a no-brainer for all involved.
