It is claimed that Aurier is on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, signing Lamptey is, unsurprisingly, not going to be an easy task.

, Brighton are discussing selling Ben White to Arsenal for £50 million. And it is claimed that they would want a similar fee for Lamptey.

Spurs surely unlikely to meet Tariq Lamptey asking price after difficult season for youngster

As mentioned, Lamptey seemed to impress whenever he played. However, his season was seriously disrupted by injury.

Spurs meanwhile, are surely going to be reluctant to part with large sums this summer. It is even riskier in this window.

So it is hard to see Tottenham meeting Lamptey’s asking price if Brighton are indeed looking for a £50 million fee.

There looks to be every chance that he could be more than worth that fee in the coming years.

However, such a deal would eat up a large portion of Spurs’ budget. And if his injury problems persist at all, then it may be some time before Tottenham are vindicated.

Having said that, Spurs may be wary of missing out. If Lamptey gets back on track next season, his value could rise considerably.

So it will be interesting to see how Tottenham move forward with their interest in the right-back.
