Report: PL club makes approach for Guendouzi after Arsenal exit

Just six months after leaving Arsenal permanently, Matteo Guendouzi has been offered the chance to return to the Premier League, that an unnamed club has made an approach for the Frenchman.

It was no surprise to see Guendouzi leave the Emirates. He spent last season on loan at Stade Velodrome, and the year before with Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Of course, his spells out on loan came about after he fell over of favour under Mikel Arteta. He did not play for the club again after that game against Brighton when the Premier League season restarted in 2020.

There has been little question about his talent. However, the 23-year-old did not fit into Arteta’s plans. But he has been able to keep his career on track back in his home country.

He has played 22 times in all competitions for Marseille. And he was a part of the France squad which reached the World Cup final in Qatar at the end of last year.

And it seems that he could be offered the opportunity to make a Premier League return in the near future.

, an unnamed club in England have made an approach for Guendouzi. And he is considering the chance to move on.

Marseille however, are yet to learn which team has made the move. So it would certainly appear that there are plenty of hurdles to clear before he makes any switch across the Channel.

Arsenal fans will have understood why Arteta allowed Guendouzi to leave. Perhaps there could be criticism of the fact that they let him go for just . He obviously has the potential to be worth a lot more.

However, Arteta has put together a brilliant squad which buys into what he wants. So he has been vindicated for almost every decision he has made at the helm – including letting Guendouzi go.
