Report: Paul Mitchell readying £13.5 million swoop for Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier

Monaco are interested in Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier, with the club’s former recruitment guru Paul Mitchell said to be leading the charge.

that Mitchell is a fan of the Ivory Coast international and he would like to bring him to the principality club this summer in his new role as sporting director of the Ligue 1 club.

The report does not suggest that Tottenham would be open to a sale, considering the fact Spurs have no other first-choice right-back options, with Kyle Walker-Peters seemingly discarded.

In France, that Tottenham would want at least €15 million (£13.5m) for the player, who would reunite with his good friend Wissam Ben Yedder from their time together at Toulouse.

that Ben Yedder is ‘a phenomenon’ and would clearly relish the chance to play with him again.

But any deal would also be complicated by Mitchell’s relationship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

, Mitchell’s ‘dream job’ turned into ‘a nightmare’ under the Spurs chairman and when he resigned he ended up on gardening leave for six months.

It was, by all accounts, not an extremely amicable split and it will be interesting to see if any potential issues can be put behind them in a deal for Aurier to head back to French football.
