Report: Pascal Struijk could leave Leeds United, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany potential locations

😼Reports in Belgium are suggesting that Leeds United youngster Pascal Struijk could be on his way out of the club in the months to come.

ওThe report comes from the final paragraph of an interview the 20-year-old Dutchman

𒀰It is suggested that Struijk could leave Leeds either permanently or on loan and suggest potential locations. It is claimed a Belgian ‘subtopper’ is keen on his signature, meaning a team outside the traditional big teams in Belgium such as Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Standard Liege, KRC Genk, and KAA Gent. Teams in the Netherlands and Germany are also said to be tracking the player, among others.

𝕴Struijk, an imposing 6ft 3ins central defender, joined Leeds from Ajax in January 2018. Last December, he made his debut for the Leeds first-team as they beat Hull City 2-0 at Elland Road. He later made his second and only other Leeds appearance, struggling to impress in a late cameo during Leeds United’s 3-3 draw with Cardiff City.

𓃲Despite his lack of minutes with the first-team, Struijk has been a regular with the Leeds Under-23s and on the bench for first-team matches. Indeed, he was on the bench for Leeds United’s last match against Huddersfield Town in March.

ꦬIndeed, Marcelo Bielsa is a fan of the player’s work ethic. As he told a Leeds United press conference before the Cardiff City game

“With Pascal the situation is in our first year here in Leeds, in his (Bielsa’s) opinion he was a player far from the first-team. After he had worked a lot in the team, with willing from him, a lot of effort and dedication (he became a better player). He gives everything and never demands a thing. After he start to become a better player he started to add strengths to his play he did not (previously) have.”

🍎So it would seem more likely that Struijk is sent out on loan to continue his progression. That is, of course, unless Leeds United feel that Struijk may have already maxed out his potential at Thorp Arch.

🍨If that does prove the case, then Struijk might very well be on the chopping block in the next transfer window.
