Report: Paratici’s plan means Tottenham are now willing to sell £100k-a-week star this summer

Tottenham Hotspur would be prepared to sanction the exit of Toby Alderweireld this summer if they receive an ‘appropriate offer’,.

Alderweireld has apparently told Tottenham that he would like to leave the club, despite featuring fairly regularly for them last season.

Tottenham seem to be of the opinion that losing Alderweireld may not be the biggest blow in the world, though.

Tottenham let Jan Vertonghen leave last summer at a time when he appeared to lose some of his pace, and Alderweireld may be reaching a similar point in his career.

If Spurs do sell the experienced international his replacement will have big shoes to fill, though.

Alderweireld is one of Tottenham’s finest defenders in the modern era, and his departure will leave a sizeable hole in their squad.
