Report: Paratici reaches verbal agreement to sell 24-year-old Tottenham player, but now Levy’s stepped in
Fabio Paratici has reached a verbal agreement to sell Tottenham’s Steven Bergwijn but Daniel Levy is not fully satisfied.
Dutch outlet report that an agreement over the 24-year-old has been reached, but not committed to paper yet.
And in any case, Levy is not content with the agreement and has now stepped in to add another layer of complication.
Levy doesn’t agree with the additional requirements in the agreement, such as the number of installments and % of next sale.

Levy is a famously stubborn negotiator and he seems happy to dig his heels in to get the exact deal that he wants over Bergwijn.
Paratici seems happier to get the deal done and end a saga which has been going on for weeks, and would give Antonio Conte more clarity over his squad ahead of the pre-season tour.
It was reported last month that Levy has taken over from Paratici in the negotiations to sign Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.
It does not appear to be a coincidence that while Spurs have done lots of other rapid business this summer, that particular deal is moving slowly because of a reluctance to pay up the money required.
Of course, nobody at Spurs wants them to rush to agree a deal which is completely disadvantageous to the club.
But if Paratici has agreed to the deal, how bad can it really be?
And surely it would be better to get the deal done, get the money and the clarity required, rather than dragging it on over sell-on clauses?
Levy does not tend to budge, so this one could yet be dragged out for longer, when it is clear that Bergwijn going to Ajax would suit all parties.
