Report: Paratici monitoring 21-year-old for Tottenham, Klopp thinks he’s a ‘big, big talent’
Fabio Paratici is considering a move to sign Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to .
Paratici is wasting no time in getting to work drawing up a shortlist of targets as Spurs’ new Managing Director. And Kabak now features on the former Juventus chief’s shopping list after Liverpool elected against purchasing the Turkey international.
The Reds held an option to buy Kabak as part of the loan agreement that took the 21-year-old to Anfield in January. But the clause has now expired, forcing him to return and face an uncertain future in Germany.

Schalke want to move Kabak on in the off-season following the Veltins-Arena side’s relegation from the Bundesliga. Die Konigsblauen have informed the enforcer in talks over his future earlier this week that they cannot afford to keep him.
Kabak is not short of suitors, though, with interest gaining momentum at rapid rate in Italy. Atalanta, Lazio and Roma are among the growing list of sides currently assessing moves for the centre-half.
They could be joined by Inter Milan, however, should the Serie A champions part with one of their current options. And Paratici is keeping a close eye on Kabak, as Tottenham continue their search for a new manager.
TBR’s view: Paratici should consider Kabak for Tottenham
Paratici will have to hold off on signing Kabak – or any other arrivals – until the next Tottenham manager is confirmed. But the new chief in north London should consider bringing the Schalke man back to the Premier League.
Kabak has a lot of potential still to display but played a key role at Liverpool before injury cut short his half-season loan. Those will also have helped the 21-year-old become accustomed to the English game after playing in a poor Schalke side.
Schalke’s relegation could now also help Paratici agree a deal worth less than Liverpool’s expired option. The Reds paid £1m for a loan with an £18m clause that could have reached £26.5m with add-ons ().
And Jurgen Klopp was not short of enthusiasm of Kabak’s potential, either. He told : “He came very young to Germany and everybody was clear he was a massive talent. He’s really a big, big talent.”
