Report: ‘Outstanding’ player set to start for Arsenal on Thursday, 25-year-old likely to miss out entirely

Eddie Nketiah is set to start for Arsenal on Thursday against Bodo/Glimt, that Gabriel Jesus is likely to miss out entirely.

Jesus has been a standout performer for the Gunners this season after making the switch from Manchester City. It’s come at the expense of the ‘outstanding’ Nketiah as he’s played a back-up role to the Brazilian.

But Jesus could now miss Arsenal’s trip to Norway for their Europa League group stage game after he suffered a blow to the head against Liverpool on Sunday.

The Arsenal star was caught by the trailing arm of Konstantinos Tsmikas but did play on for the majority of the remaining minutes of the game, before being replaced by Nketiah.

Now, it seems that Nketiah could get another chance to impress Arteta in the Europa League on Thursday.

Nketiah set to start for Arsenal

that Jesus is now likely to miss out entirely on Arsenal’s Europa League clash on Thursday evening.

This means that Nketiah is set to start in his place and lead the line for the Gunners.

Jesus has been instrumental for Arsenal this season and put in another impressive display against Jurgen Klopp’s side. The striker won the penalty for Bukayo Saka’s winner and was a constant nuisance to Liverpool’s defence.

The Brazilian has already registered five goals and four assists in just nine Premier League appearances.

Nketiah has already proven to be a capable back-up option to Jesus this season. He’s yet to get off the mark in the Premier League but has been limited to substitute appearances.

But the 23-year-old has already scored two goals in two starts in the Europa League.

Nketiah will be keen to add to his tally on Thursday night and get some more minutes under his belt as he aims to impress Arteta.
