Report: Offer from Scottish club on table for player that starred against Celtic

has claimed that an offer from an unnamed Scottish side has been tabled for CFR Cluj striker Billel Omrani, after he starred against Celtic last week.

Omrani, 26, scored two goals and laid on another assists as Cluj earned a 4-3 win over Celtic on the night – meaning they completed a surprise 5-4 victory on aggregate to progress to the play-off round.

The French-born winger has been in sensational form for Cluj this season, scoring eight goals in 12 league and cup appearances. He has netted six goals in six Champions League qualifiers, including a hat-trick against FC Astana.

The report claims that an offer from a Scottish club has been tabled. It is believed that there are three offers on the table for Omrani, from Scotland and Israel. It means two could be from Scotland. The largest offer is worth £3.2million.

TBR’s view – Perfect replacement for Scott Sinclair?

Sinclair has managed just 56 minutes of action all season and despite scoring against FK Sarajevo, he was left out of the entire 18-man squad in both legs against Cluj.

It is likely that Sinclair may leave over the course of the next 12 months, especially given he had Premier League and Championship interest in the summer.

Omrani is four years his junior, and can also play up front and out wide. The Cluj attacker is the perfect replacement for Sinclair.
