Report: Obiang set for Sassuolo medical this week ahead of move from West Ham
West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang is set to undergo a medical at Sassuolo later this week.
, the 27-year-old is ready to return his homeland after four years in the Premier League with the Hammers.

A deal worth £8 million has been struck between the two clubs, meaning the Irons will actually be doubling their initial investment in the player – he signed for just £4 million from Sampdoria in 2015 on Slaven Bilic’s watch.
Obiang has made a total of 116 appearances for the club, and scored just three goals – the pick being a scorcher against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in 2017/18.
TBR’s view
Should the £8 million deal go through as expected, then it’ll be good business from West Ham.
Obiang has been a decent servant for the club, but has never really set the world alight during his four years in London.

To be getting double their money back is respectable, and the club can now potentially reinvest that into a younger replacement.
Or they can use that to strengthen another area of the team, such as attack, and maybe promote a young midfielder to replace Obiang.
