Report: Nuno to take close look at 20-year-old Tottenham player, several clubs want loan

Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo will reportedly take a close look at youngster Jack Clarke in pre-season, amid loan interest in him.

, Nuno will watch the 20-year-old closely in upcoming pre-season matches before deciding his future.

It is understood the Portuguese boss is likely to keep some youngsters in the squad to use in the inaugural season of UEFA’s third tier competition.

However, the report says two Championship clubs are interested in signing Clarke on loan. In addition, there is a club in Belgium who also want to land him on a temporary basis.

Clarke, who’s played just three senior games for Spurs, is still waiting to make a serious breakthrough with the north London club. But, the quick English attacker has plenty of potential.

The right-winger has shown glimpses in the Championship of his ability, so Nuno is checking him out.

The UEFA Conference League could be a blessing in disguise in developing younger players. Of course, the club would rather be in Europe’s elite competitions.

Jack Clarke facing key weeks in Tottenham career

If Clarke impresses in this summer’s pre-season, it could help launch his Spurs career.

It’s a clean slate for the Spurs squad following Nuno’s arrival, so these next few weeks seem vital for all.

Clarke needs to play on the front foot because that’s when he’s at his best. He’s a fleet-footed wide player that must express himself on the ball and sticking with the senior group to play in Europe could be a great building block for him.
