Report: Newcastle will be offered chance to sign defender Ozan Kabak

Newcastle United will reportedly have the opportunity to complete the transfer of defender Ozan Kabak this summer.

Kabak, who earns , spent the second half of the season in the Premier League on loan with Liverpool from Schalke.

However, he’s now returned to parent German club Schalke, who have been relegated from the Bundesliga.

, Newcastle attempted to sign Kabak back in the January window.

The report explains that the Magpies expect they will be offered a deal by Schalke to sign him this summer, but his quoted £18million-plus price tag could make any kind of deal to take him to St James’ Park a non-starter.

Aged 21, Kabak was really impressive during his brief spell at Liverpool.

The Turkey international made just 13 first-team Liverpool appearances, but that didn’t prevent some Reds fans asking for him to be signed permanently.

Ozan Kabak transfer could be £18m bargain

Unfortunately, Kabak missed the last few games of the league season with an injury. He didn’t looked phased though in the Liverpool XI beforehand.

The 21-year-old is an aggressive centre-back that has the physicality to cope with English football, as well as showing real composure in possession.

His potential means a transfer around the £20million mark is a deal worth taking, but it’s suggested Newcastle wouldn’t go nowhere near him at that price tag.

In fairness, there are other areas of the pitch that need prioritising first by Newcastle.
