Report: Newcastle want to sign ‘incredible’ striker ahead of Liverpool, he wants £115k-a-week contract
Newcastle United want to beat a host of clubs including Liverpool to the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko.
The report that the Magpies are in the chase for the Germany international teenager, whose contract situation is coming to a head.
As it stands, Moukoko can leave on a free transfer at the end of the season or discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.
reported this week that he wants a £115,000-a-week contract, which is more than Dortmund have so far offered.

Newcastle in battle for Moukoko
He is one of the most promising teenagers in world football and has a massive future ahead of him if he makes the right move next.
The Times report also said that the German teenager does not want to move somewhere he will not play very often and stunt his development.
That may make Newcastle a more appealing destination, although of course Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson would offer stiff competition even if Chris Wood was moved on to make space.
Liverpool’s priority really should be a new midfield, although of course they have attacking injuries which could derail their bid for consistency which has so far eluded them this season.
Newcastle may want a wide forward as more of a priority, with James Maddison a heavily rumoured top target but he could prove expensive.
Moukoko could be a coup on a free transfer, with the report saying that Dortmund would not accept a sale this month but for a ‘silly’ offer.
That would not make sense for any club to make when he will be available for free in the summer if he does not sign a new deal.
