Report: Newcastle United want to sign Arsenal defender Rob Holding
Newcastle United are said to be keen on signing Arsenal defender, Rob Holding, with the claiming the Magpies have now entered the race.
Holding is said to be one of a number of players who Mikel Arteta is willing to let go this summer and it appears Steve Bruce is now keen on bringing the 24-year-old to St James’ Park.

The claims the Magpies are keen on a loan deal for Holding, who would no doubt relish the chance to get some more regular game-time under his belt.
Holding made only eight Premier League appearances last season. And with David Luiz impressing late on last term and Arsenal now set to sign Gabriel Magalhaes, it looks like Holding will drop even further down the pecking order.

Newcastle are desperate for reinforcements and are in a smaller market following the collapse of their proposed takeover. Holding, then, could well fit the mould.
Holding has potential and could flourish under Bruce – TBR View
It’s always felt like Holding isn’t going to be the man to make Arsenal a formidable force defensively but at a club like Newcastle he could well flourish.
Working under a former defender in Bruce might well help him, while he won’t be expected to be on the ball as much as he would in Arteta’s Arsenal.
This might work for everyone. Holding, too, only earns a £25k-a-week, meaning he won’t break the bank for Newcastle even if they have to pay a loan fee.
