Report: Newcastle United duo hope to be back in time for Fulham game, £20m player has trained without ‘any issues’

Newcastle United duo Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are hoping to be back in time for the game against Fulham next weekend, .

Eddie Howe’s side have been hit with injuries over the international break and the Magpies boss will be desperate to have his attacking duo back.

Alexander Isak was forced to withdraw from the Sweden squad due to an unspecified injury just three days ago.

Bruno Guimaraes was not involved in Brazil’s win over Ghana on Friday and has been recovering from a thigh injury. The Northern Echo notes that Brazil are concerned over the injury, despite the player making a comeback against Bournemouth last weekend.

It’s been a difficult international break for the Magpies so far, but they could be handed a boost if Saint-Maximin and Wilson return to full fitness this week.

But Wilson trained ‘without any issues’ last week and could be set to return against Fulham.

Saint-Maximin is slightly behind Wilson and hasn’t taken part in any contact training at this stage, the Northern Echo notes.

Howe will be hoping the pair can work towards full fitness before the trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday.
