Newcastle United are preparing a £20 million bid for Robert Sanchez this summer, that the Magpies see the Brighton star as their future number one.

Eddie Howe’s side are set to be the ones to watch in the Premier League this summer. As things stand, it does appear that Newcastle will be playing in the top-flight again next year.

And it seems that signing a new goalkeeper is a priority for Newcastle.

The Sun reports that the name at the top of their wishlist is now Sanchez. The 24-year-old has been outstanding throughout his time with the Seagulls.

He has kept eight clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

that Newcastle are now ready to pay £20 million for Sanchez. It is claimed that he is Howe’s favoured choice in the search for a new goalkeeper.

Brighton will surely want more than £20m for Newcastle target Sanchez

It would certainly be an outstanding piece of business if Newcastle signed Sanchez for just £20 million. For many Brighton fans, he will surely be worth a lot more.

Interestingly, Sanchez was sent off against Newcastle earlier in the campaign, cynically bringing down Callum Wilson before the striker could run through on an open goal.

He looks to be a brilliant prospect several years from his peak. He has already made his debut for the senior Spain side, making his bow against Georgia earlier this season.

. So the Seagulls are under little pressure to let him go.

Graham Potter previously labelled him ‘‘. So he will surely have questions if the club now sell him for £20 million.
