Report: Newcastle open talks with West Ham over Issa Diop
West Ham United are now in talks with Newcastle with the Magpies keen on landing Issa Diop before the January window closes, .
It was reported at the weekend that Eddie Howe wants the Frenchman. He has tended to be more of a fringe player at the London Stadium when David Moyes has had a fully fit squad.

that West Ham want £10 million for the 25-year-old. But they are also keen to land a replacement before allowing Diop to leave the club amid interest from Newcastle.
It would appear that Duje Caleta-Car is the most likely centre-back signing for West Ham on deadline day. And with that, talks with Newcastle over Diop are underway, .

West Ham likely to be in two minds over Diop leaving for Newcastle
Diop has previously looked destined for a brilliant career with the Hammers. Jose Mourinho famously lauded the West Ham scouts for finding him after a ‘‘ display against his Manchester United side.
However, his progress has stalled somewhat in more recent years. And it appeared that Moyes’ decision to take him off in the recent defeat to Leeds was cheered.
Nevertheless, selling him in this window would be a gamble, particularly if no new signings arrive. They have had to deal with injuries to both Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.
And without a replacement, West Ham may be wary of allowing Diop to join Newcastle.
