Report: Newcastle now want ‘fantastic’ £27m star from PL rival
Newcastle United are interested in taking Yerry Mina on loan from Everton, as Eddie Howe continues to try and strengthen his centre-back options, .
The Magpies have been linked with a host of names this month. There is reportedly interest in the likes of Gleison Bremer and Nikola Milenković.
, has suggested that they have had no luck in landing either Sven Botman or James Tarkowski.
They are still working on a move for number one target Diego Carlos. However, TEAMtalk adds that they are also interested in Mina. They would like the Everton star on loan.
The report does note that signing Mina may be complicated following the departure of Rafa Benitez. Of course, the Colombian will now be waiting to see what his immediate future looks like under the Spaniard’s successor.
Everton’s slide down the table is also thought to be a problem. The Toffees have only won once since the end of September. And they sit just six points above the bottom three.

Mina has divided opinion during his time at Goodison Park. There was a lot of excitement about his arrival. The defender came in off the back of a spell with Barcelona. He also helped Colombia reach the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup.
He cost Everton . And he has, at times, struggled to live up to expectations. However, he also has the potential to be a colossal centre-back.

Selling him to Newcastle for a significant fee would be one thing. But letting him leave on loan would be a huge gamble from the Toffees.
