Report: Newcastle now receiving enquiries for their ‘gold dust’ player, Howe is determined to keep him
Newcastle United are determined to keep Chris Wood beyond the end of the January transfer window amid enquiries over an exit.
The report that clubs have asked about the New Zealand international as they look for a goalscorer in the winter window.
Leeds United have been linked with a reunion with the towering hitman but it seems that Eddie Howe wants to keep him around.
That is despite Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak being ahead of him in the pecking order when they are fully fit.

Newcastle determined keep Wood beyond January
Wood is a reliable third choice striker who is experienced at scoring goals in the Premier League, robust physically and capable of offering Howe another option.
Perhaps Newcastle need to balance the books this month if they are to make one or two additions to their squad and keep an FFP buffer.
But it seems Wood will not be one of them, and he has been described as ‘gold dust’ due to his ability to net goals in the Premier League.
Plenty of clubs would like someone who knows how to score ten goals a season in the top flight as their first pick frontman.
Wood may not be a fashionable name, but Newcastle have that in their third choice, with the exciting Isak and Wilson there too.
Newcastle are looking to build a quality squad, not just a first eleven, and for the rest of the season at the very least, it seems Wood fits into that.
