Report: Newcastle make £16.9m bid for PSG starlet Arnaud Kalimuendo
Newcastle United have now confirmed their interest in Arnaud Kalimuendo by making a bid worth up to £16.9 million for the Paris Saint-Germain starlet, .
Kalimuendo has been made available by PSG this summer despite an impressive loan spell with Lens. He scored 13 goals in all competitions last season, including 12 in Ligue 1.
Reports claimed this week that Newcastle had stepped up their interest in the 20-year-old. They are battling the likes of Leeds United and Leicester City for the Frenchman’s signature.
And it now seems that they have made an opening offer for Kalimuendo. , Newcastle have bid £12.7 million up front for the striker. Meanwhile, a further £4.2 million would come in add-ons.
It does appear that PSG are yet to respond to the bid. However, Media Foot does note that the Ligue 1 champions want around £21.1 million for Kalimuendo.
So you would imagine that Newcastle will have to up their offer to get a deal across the line.

For an opening offer, Newcastle are not too far away from meeting PSG’s demands. And with that, it would perhaps not be a huge surprise if an agreement is reached at some stage.
It will be interesting to see whether their bid prompts their rivals to get involved in the race. Newcastle do not appear to be in any mood to waste time in this pursuit.
PSG will hope that some sort of bidding war begins.
The Magpies definitely need to strengthen up front before the new campaign begins. And Kalimuendo would be an exciting addition to the ranks.
