Report: Newcastle, Leeds and Everton all interested in Brighton

that Newcastle United, Everton and Leeds United have all expressed an interest in signing Brighton midfielder Solly March this summer.

March, 26, managed just 19 Premier League appearances under Graham Potter last season – as his involvement with the team begins to slowly decrease. He managed only one assist in that time.

Able to play on both flanks or even as a left-back, March has entered the final two years of his contract and while Brighton are keen to extend his contract – his future is up in the air and that has attracted suitors.

Newly-promoted Leeds are interested – as are Everton and Newcastle – but a fee of £15million will be needed to prize the versatile winger away from the Amex. Leeds are also interested in another Brighton player, in Ben White.

TBR’s view – March a steady player, but is an improvement?

That goes for all three sides. Just two goals and 10 assists in 90 Premier League appearances, Solly is more renowned for his hard work as a defensive winger – rather than one that goes forward and tries to create or score.

Under Chris Hughton, certainly, he played to defend rather than attack. At £15million, his stats hardly seem impressive but he could be a good squad player for those that are interested – if a cheaper fee can be negotiated.
