Report: Newcastle insiders admit that the club could be about to make a real risky signing this summer
Newcastle insiders have acknowledged that the impending summer swoop for Hugo Ekitike represents a risky move.
That is contained within a report by the about Ekitike and Matt Targett, who has just made his loan move from Aston Villa permanent.
The Magpies focused on Premier League experience in January, with Bruno Guimaraes the only new recruit without it.
He has shown the star quality which can come with that, and Ekitike would also be coming in from Ligue 1 if he did make the move.

Ekitike could be a risky move for Newcastle
The article says that a transfer has been agreed in principle with French outfit Reims for Ekitike, who was also of interest in January.
They say that negotiations over agent fees and add-ons have slowed the process of the deal, but it is still thought that it will get done.
Magpies insiders have admitted that, while Ekitike represents somewhat of a risky move given that he is a teenage striker who has no Premier League experience.
On the other hand, Targett knows the club and the demands of the Premier League and should be able to pick up where he left off last season.

Newcastle are clearly trying to balance risk and reward.
If they threw Ekitike into the pressure of a relegation dogfight last winter as the main striker, that would probably have been the wrong way to do it.
But they got Chris Wood, who had been there and done it and even when the goals weren’t going in, he did not panic and still did his work for the team.
Wood and Callum Wilson can take the burden and allow the teenager to settle if he does come in, and Newcastle clearly think his talent makes him worth it.
