Report: Newcastle eye move for PSV defender Chris Gloster
According to , Newcastle United could make a move to sign PSV youngster, Chris Gloster, after he was spotted by the Magpies’ scouting network.
Newcastle have been looking at their options in January with money tight and cheap or loan signings the most likely outcome for Steve Bruce.

But claims Gloster has emerged as an option. Predominantly a left-back who can also play in defensive midfield, Gloster, 20, has been plying his trade with the PSV reserve team.
However, he has impressed when watched and is currently with the USA under-23 team on a training camp, per the .
Bruce is clearly targeting a new left-back after seeing Jamal Lewis fail to live up to expectation following his arrival from Norwich City in the summer. Brandon Williams of Manchester United is another name who has been mentioned.

Gloster, meanwhile, could well jump at the chance of a move to the Premier League, although whether he’d be ready to make an immediate impact is up for debate.
TBR View: A good one for the future, but Newcastle need the here and now
Gloster might be a talented player and could well go on to have a successful career in the game. However, Newcastle need players who can make an impact on the team now to be honest.
And unfortunately, an under-23 defender from PSV probably isn’t going to provide that.
Gloster is clearly highly-rated but for Newcastle, there has to be other targets out there who can help at this moment. Although, it might well be a case of get what you can for the Magpies in the final week of the window.
