Report: Newcastle, Everton and Leicester eye Rangers star; £20m asking price
that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is seen as Newcastle United’s most ‘ideal addition’ in January. However, the Toon face competition from Everton and Leicester City in the race for the £20million-rated ace.
Morelos, 25, joined Rangers in the summer of 2017 from Helsinki and has since scored a huge 107 goals in 211 games for the Gers. He starred under Steven Gerrard, but after winning the league title, he struggled initially.
There were signs of a rift between Gerrard and Morelos. It is evident in his form this season. Seven goals and two assists in 21 games under Gerrard, but six goals and two assists in eight games under Gio van Bronckhorst.
That renewed form has seemingly reminded Premier League clubs of his quality. With the January window now open, CBS report that Everton, Newcastle and Leicester want the Rangers star. He has a price tag of £20million.

The Colombia international has a contract at Rangers until the summer of 2023. If Morelos is unwilling to sign a new deal, then the Gers need to consider selling him this month – or in the summer. £20million is a big amount of money.
