Report: Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin close to completing move to Besiktas

Newcastle United defender, DeAndre Yedlin, is close to completing a move away from the club to join Besiktas, with a free transfer said to be close.

According to , Yedlin has agreed to move to the Turkish giants after falling down the pecking order in the northeast, with Steve Bruce apparently happy to let the USA star leave.

Yedlin, who has 62 caps for his country despite only being 27, made just 16 Premier League appearances for Newcastle last term despite being a regular in the two seasons prior.

Steve Bruce has signed a number of new players over the last 12 months and Yedlin has lost his place in the first XI to Javier Manquillo, who is now the number one right-back at the club.

It is , then, that Yedlin has now agreed to move to Besiktas for nothing. He will be hoping to reignite his career somewhat and get back to the form which saw him burst onto the scene a few seasons back.

Smart move by Bruce, some have to leave given the signings made TBR View

There were always going to be a few players out the door given Bruce has just signed the likes of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser.

Wages need to be saved at the club somewhere and with Yedlin not featuring, he is a player who the club can afford to let go.

Yedlin didn’t even make the bench for the opening day win at West Ham, so a move should suit all parties here.
