Report: Newcastle considering loan moves for duo with 10 Premier League minutes in total for club

Newcastle United are reportedly considering loan moves for Chelsea duo Ethan Ampadu and Malang Sarr.

, the Magpies are expected to only bring in loan signings for the remainder of the transfer window.

The club recently went big on the permanent signing of Joe Willock from Arsenal. The 21-year-old midfielder is the club’s only new arrival this summer.

Newcastle lost their opening game of the Premier League season to West Ham 4-2 after taking a 2-1 lead.

Indeed, plenty of work needs to be done to Steve Bruce’s side. And the defence appears to be an area that the Newcastle boss is eager to build on.

Moreover, Ampadu and Sarr could be realistic options for Bruce this summer. The duo are unlikely to play regular first-team football for Chelsea this season.

The centre-backs have played just 10 minutes between them for the Blues in the Premier League. With Ampadu spending last season with Sheffield United whilst Sarr was with FC Porto for the year.

Although the two defenders have barely kicked a ball in the English top-flight for Chelsea, there’s no denying that Ampadu and Sarr would be excellent additions to Newcastle for the season.

Furthermore, Ampadu is one of Wales’ most exciting youth prospects. Whilst Sarr played well over 100 Ligue 1 games for OGC Nice before making the move to west London last summer.

And with Bruce looking to improve on Newcastle’s defence, the Chelsea duo could be welcome additions this summer for the northeast side.
