Report: Newcastle look to battle West Ham for 28-goal Championship forward
West Ham United and Newcastle United are interested in making a move for Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong after the star’s season in the Championship this term.
According to , the Hammers and relegated Fulham are leading the race for the center-forward with Rovers attempted to convince the 24-year-old to sign a new deal at Ewood Park.
The same report is claiming that the Geordies could make an offer for their former academy graduate, who left the club back in 2018.
Newcastle are also thought to have a sell-on clause negotiated into the ace’s current contract, which has just a year left to run on it.
Armstrong has enjoyed a stunning campaign in the second-tier of English football, scoring 28 goals, second only to Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who struck a record-breaking during the regular season.
