Report: Newcastle and West Ham will have to spend £30m to sign Chelsea ace
Newcastle United have reportedly joined West Ham United and Crystal Palace in the race to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this summer – and the latest report claims he is available in the region of £30million.
Batshuayi, 26, has endured another difficult season at Chelsea – this time under the guidance of Frank Lampard. The Belgium international has managed just 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring only six times.
that Newcastle want to sign the striker, who is expected to experience another tumultuous summer. With Chelsea bringing in Timo Werner and Batshuayi entering his final 12 months, an exit is expected.
Batshuayi scored six times in 13 Palace appearances while on loan and has also gone on loan to Dortmund and Valencia. Now, interested clubs will have to spend £30million to sign him.

TBR’s view – Newcastle and West Ham will fancy their chances
For a player to have been on the fringes of the Chelsea side for so long after initially costing £33million, you would expect the Blues to reduce their asking price and engineer a move for the striker for the good of his career.
Seemingly, not in this case if they are indeed after £30million for Batshuayi. It is incredibly steep to charge almost the entire fee they paid for him, given he is set to enter the final year of his contract.
Newcastle and West Ham will fancy their chances of reducing said asking price and if they can arrange a transfer in the region of £20million, a move will suit all parties – even Chelsea, as they look to fund a move for Werner.
