Report names top target when Leeds have to replace Marcelo Bielsa
Leeds United plan to consider an approach for Julen Lopetegui when Marcelo Bielsa’s time at Elland Road comes to an end, .
Bielsa is currently on course to go down as one of the most popular bosses in the club’s history. He guided the Whites to promotion in his second season after overseeing a remarkable transformation.

They have taken little time to make a statement in the Premier League. And it does feel that Leeds are yet to discover their ceiling with the Argentinian in charge.
However, it appears that Leeds have given some thought to who may replace Bielsa.

, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is a big fan of Lopetegui. And it is suggested that an approach could be made once Bielsa moves on.
It is noted that the 54-year-old is under contract with Sevilla until 2022.
TBR View: Lopetegui would be a remarkable candidate, but Leeds will hope they don’t need his number for some time
Like Bielsa, Lopetegui has been nominated for the FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year award. He has done a remarkable job at Sevilla.
So it is not difficult to see why the Whites would be interested. And of course, it is arguably smart to keep one eye on the future while Leeds continue to make progress.
But it is surely an appointment Leeds will hope they do not need to consider for some time. Bielsa has been incredible for the club. And there is a sense that there is more to come.
Lopetegui would arguably be an amazing addition once Bielsa steps aside. But Leeds fans will be desperate for Bielsa to stick around for a long time to come.
